I'm Ruth and I run Shore Accounting and Business Services.

Shore provides bookkeeping, payroll and self assessment tax return completion to self employed people and small businesses throughout Sussex. We can also train you to do your own bookkeeping and offer other services such as coaching and mentoring in sales and team management.

I mainly work with small and medium businesses or people who are working for themselves. To me, it is important to be flexible and personalise the service I offer so that it most meets the needs of my individual customers. As such, I am always available at the end of the phone and can collect and return your paperwork at a time that suits you, be that during the day, in the evening or at weekends. I am happy to either do all of your bookkeeping work or to just do a few things - like the VAT return - if you are doing most of your own bookkeeping. I can also work alongside your accountant, if you have one (many of my customers running limited companies find it works well to have me do their day to day bookkeeping whilst their accountant deals with the end of year procedures, it can be very cost effective and straightforward).

I have got 4 children and I believe that my own experience of running a business whilst being a mum enables me to offer a service that can really meet the needs of other mumpreneurs. My background before having children was in banking and when I left my previous career to start my family, I started volunteering for a national charity, through which I have trained in both teaching adults and counselling skills, so I hope that I am able to offer a service that is not only accurate and reliable, but friendly, helpful and tailored to meet your business needs.
